LEADERSHIP MAINE PROJECT
From September 2022 through May 2023, a five-person team from the Leadership Maine program supported AOK Maine as their practicum project.
Leadership Maine (LM) is a nine-month experiential leadership development program run by the Maine Development Foundation for emerging and accomplished leaders from all sectors and all regions of Maine. Participants travel together to different regions of the state to learn from each other and from host businesses/communities in real-time through on-the-ground sessions. Each Leadership Maine class is given real-life challenges to address. Participants work in practicum teams to address the assigned issue, connect with key stakeholders, organizations and groups, and develop a solution-oriented path with the goal of improving the economy.
The team supporting AOK Maine conducted research on kindness-related programs in different parts of the country and then conducted an Acts of Kindness experiment with the full 35-person Leadership Maine class. The results were quite encouraging about how Acts of Kindness can have a positive impact that ripples outward. Learn more here:
